Do you love stand up comedy? Have you ever thought "I need to try that!" when watching stand up? Have your friends told you you're funny? Are you an open mic comic looking to take it to the next level? If so, Tacoma Comedy Academy is for you.

While teaching someone to be funny is difficult, the techniques of stand up comedy can absolutely be taught, learned, and honed. In this class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of stand-up comedy, learn proper joke structure, learn what makes people laugh, create original material, practice in class with specific and individual feedback, and perform in front of a live audience. Whether you're pursuing a passion, trying it once, or improving your presentation skills; this fun, supportive, and hands-on class will help you learn to speak in front of groups and fully develop or fine tune an original act ready for the stage. Taught by professional stand up comedians, Tacoma Comedy Academy includes four class sessions and one wonderful live show in front of a supportive audience of your friends and family. Class Dates and Sign-Up:

• Tuesday Nights: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
• July 30th, August 6th, August 13th, August 20th
• Live Graduation Show Date: Sunday, August 25th. Dress Rehearsal from 5:00-6:00 PM, and show at 7:00 PM

Class Cost:

• $200 for Early Birds (Before 06/01)
• $250 for Slow Birds (After 06/01)
